GWS Academy product, Jarrod Brander, joined the West Coast in 2017 as a 13th pick in the 2017 national draft.
Brander himself is a versatile player who can win aerial challenges at either end of the pitch but has superior pace, making him a lethal weapon with the ball in hand. And was utilised as a target man in East Perth’s forward line for the 2018 WAFL season. Brander scored 14 goals and took over 100 marks in 17 games for East Perth in the WAFL while also making his AFL debut for the Eagles against Sydney in round 13.
Brander came back to force his way into the Eagles’ 22 for the opening round of the 2019 season. He failed to impress, though and managed just one more game in the AFL side that season.
Again Brander looked to find a way into the Eagles 22 and was given an opportunity on the wing for the opening four games of the 2020 campaign before suffering a hip injury. He returned to the senior side late towards the end of the year for a further four games.
Signing a three-year deal back in 2018, Brander will stay at the Eagles until the end of the 2021 season.
